What is CrossFit

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit begins with a belief in fitness. While CrossFit is many things, primarily, it’s a fitness regimen developed over several decades that targets multiple training modalities. CrossFit itself is defined as that which optimizes fitness (constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity). CrossFit is also the community that arises when people do these workouts together, supporting one another and working as a team. In fact, the communal aspect of CrossFit is a key component of why it’s so effective. Working within a team improves individual motivation, lends itself to personal achievements, creates comradery and paves the way for results.

CrossFit is not easy and it’s not simple. To be fit and physically competent to handle all of life’s challenges is no small endeavor. Education is a large part of CrossFit. This is where your CrossFit Continuity Coaches play a huge role. As you work to become a fitter and healthier person, you will need to learn about:

  • Movement - How to move safely and effectively.
  • Fitness - What it means to be fit. Its definition, the supporting theories, and how to go about attaining it in real life.
  • Nutrition - Eat meat & vegetables, nuts & seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise, but not body fat.


Who are the Coaches?

CrossFit Continuity Coaches have attended accredited training seminars and have passed a CrossFit Level 1 Certificate test. Our coaches bring a wealth of knowledge to share with you; from proper technique, safe movement and nutritional guidance to personal evaluations. Many hold additional certificates in Mobility, Endurance Training, Olympic Training, Powerlifting and CrossFit Judging.

Who can participate in CrossFit?

CrossFit is for anyone who has the desire to learn, work hard and achieve incredible results! The important thing to keep in mind is that everyone works at their own personal maximal effort.
