When did you first start doing CrossFit?
I started CF in April of 2016
Favorite CrossFit movement?
My favorite CF movement aside from the gymnastics skills I've acquired would probably be a split jerk. There's just something about the rapid movement and pushing the weight up that is so exhilarating.
Least favorite CrossFit movement?
As far as my least favorite CF movement, my first thought was to follow the crowd and say Burpees. Now, I'm not a huge fan of burpees...but there's something a like much less...ROWING! In fact, I hate you rowing
How does your first CrossFit experience compare to your experience now?
My first CF experience compared to my last...night/day. It took me almost three years to get up the nerve to even walk in to a CF gym (CFC). I knew once I did it I would love it. But even after going through on-boarding I was still terrified to attend a real class. After some encouragement from my awesome coaches, Pat & Chelsea, I came and of course loved it. Now, I walk in confident...knock it out and walk out feeling accomplished (most of the time ).
What are your hobbies outside of the gym?
Hobbies outside of the gym. I love spending time with my family. My husband Jeremy and I have two kids (Reece & Emily) who remain active in different sports. So I basically spend most of my free time carpooling them wherever they need to be. I enjoy teaching preschool during the school year and love having my summers off to spend vacationing and relaxing.

"Simply put, Mary is awesome! Not just as a fellow CFC member, but as a friend too. As she develops as an athlete and as our friendship develops she becomes an even cooler person. Mary always tries her best and encourages those around her to do the same. I love working out with Mary because we continuously push each other to finish faster or to add more weight. She really strives to do better and be better every class and you will never hear her complain about a WOD, although I hear she loves rowing and DU’s!"

"Mary is a constant source of inspiration and her presence quite literally makes every class better. She is friendly, outgoing and fun, and her determination to improve and master movements is always inspiring to watch. Whether it's handstand pushups, heavy cleans or just crushing a workout, she never says quit, and she makes CFC a better place for everyone around her! Congrats Mary!"
